The Problem Space
House2Home is an interior decorating app that is aimed to help people who have use moved into a new space that need help adding decor to make their new house into their new home.
This modified design sprint provided the concept of House2Home which is a new startup that wants to make it easier for people to decorate their new homes. They’ve brought you on to run a design sprint, and quickly come up with a possible solution! You are brought on with the initial research done with user interviews and pain points that need to be addressed.
The challenge was to address the main pain points that the user interviews brought to light. After exploring various mapping options, I decided to pursue how to collect the information needed from the user in order to curate a list of decor that was within the users budget and decor style. This was addressed with a popular swiping style quiz when the user swipes yes or no to decor styles. From there they would pick decor styles they liked, set a budget and answer a few more questions on what they like before a curated list is generated for them.

First Round Testing Findings
Overall the first round of testing went well and revealed some key findings:
Overall positive reception on the look and feel
positive, aesthetic, clean
Wanted an option to be able to express likes and dislikes for decor looks
Overall straightforward
Second Round Testing Findings
The “cute or cut” was fun and helpful with narrowing down a desired look
This would be very helpful to actually aid in budget friendly home decor
Reflection
This design sprint was a great exercise in learning how to read information quickly and be able to implement it into a working design for a user. The concept and branding provided was fun and different from my first capstone. I appreciated the different approach to the idea of an interior design application. The end result was a a step-by-step in home decor creation.
